Splinter Cell: Conviction Slated for February 2010 Release

Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:40 am by Deathwhitch

After numerous delays, a new release date for the latest Splinter Cell has been announced.

Despite recent comments from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot that some of the games that were delayed into the first quarter of 2010 may be delayed once again, it would appear that he was not talking about Splinter Cell: Conviction. According to CVG, it's been announced at the Tokyo Game Show that the game will be released sometime next February after being delayed from its previous 2009 release date.

Conviction is a 360 exclusive that was originally set to be released way back in 2007, only to be delayed after being poorly received by critics and to avoid being undermined by another Ubisoft title, Assassin's Creed. The game looked awfully good in its E3 showing earlier this year, so it was a major disappointment to see it get pushed back to 2010. Hopefully we really will get our hands on it in February and that will have turned out to be the game's final delay.
